Arriving at a medina riad: how the car-free lanes work

One thing that surprises first timers: most riads sit inside the medina, the old walled city, down lanes called derbs that are too narrow for any car. Your taxi or transfer cannot pull up to the door, and that is normal. It is not a driver trying to dump you early.
