Ask for the operator's legal company name, contact details and a written confirmation that identifies the route, date, vehicle and total price. Request proof of any licensing or insurance claim that matters to your booking.

Also ask who will actually drive. A marketplace, tour company and transport operator are not always the same business.

For luggage, give dimensions when you carry more than standard cases. "Four passengers" tells the operator very little if those passengers also have a wheelchair, stroller and four large suitcases.

Take timestamped photos at collection and return. Photograph the fuel gauge, wheels, glass and every existing mark noted on the form.
